URD found a need for a modification to the standard Rotrex Oil tank that is used with Rotrex superchargers. This was to meet the needs of one of our aerospace customers. We also found that this modification works very well for road vehicles that experience very rough roads and high G-forces like ATVs and race vehicles.
The standard blue Rotrex cap that is vented tends to slosh oil out of the tank in rough conditions. That blue cap is removed and replaced with a sealed aluminum cap that has a rubber seal. To satisfy the venting needs, a vent line port is installed in the top of the tank with a vent hose that can be routed to a safe location for venting.
There is also a port installed in the bottom of the oil tank that comes plugged with an 1/8″ NPT plug. This can be removed and you can install an oil temperature sensor. This is very useful for supercharger kit developers to ensure that the oil temperature remains in the safe limits.
