The URD SuperGrip Supercharger pulleys for the 5VZ TRD Supercharger use an advanced design to enhance performance, reduce belt slippage and extend supercharger belt life. These pulleys are smaller than stock and increase the impeller speed and boost pressure to the engine. When this is combined with the proper fuel upgrades and tuning you will have increased performance.
The TRD Supercharger for the 5vz uses a small 4 rib drive belt. Transferring the torque needed to drive the supercharger from a 4 rib becomes more difficult when the pulley size is reduced. To address this problem URD developed the advanced SuperGrip design.
The SuperGrip design has three advanced features to enhance belt traction.
- Tall outer ears: grab the outside edges of the belt and make the 4 rib belt act like a 5 rib belt for greater traction and torque transfer.
- Modified rib profile: improves the contact pattern between the ribs and the belt for greater traction and torque transfer.
- Slit and hole design: The slits and vent holes in the pulley give the air that can get trapped between the belt and pulley a way to escape and eliminates a “hydroplaning” effect. This gives the best possible traction and torque transfer.
These features result in the most advanced supercharger pulley design available and really make the pulley look awesome!! All the URD SuperGrip pulleys are finished in a hard anodizing in bright URD red.
URD offers three different size pulleys. For a daily driven truck, we recommend the 2.2” pulley. This is the best overall size that will give you approximately 1.5-2 PSI more boost than the stock 2.37” size pulley and is safe for long-term use when properly fueled and tuned. This should only be used with the highest octane fuel available in your area.
The 2.1” normally will give approximately 1-1.5 PSI more boost over the 2.2” pulley. This should be used with 93 octane fuel minimum or used for vehicles at high elevations.

In November 2021 due to parts shortages, Magnuson has assembled some of the 3.4L supercharger systems with a different style input shaft and they required a press-on type pulley. If your supercharger does not have a large nut holding the pulley in place you do not have a slip fit style supercharger pulley and this pulley will not fit.
Magnuson recently released an updated version of the supercharger using a new TVS 1320 compressor. This pulley will not fit on the new supercharger. URD will have an new pulley available very soon that will so stay TUNED!
